Best Luxury Shoe Brands

Christian Louboutin famously said “A shoe is not only a design, but it’s a part of your body language, the way you walk. The way you’re going to move is quite dictated by your shoes”, a very bold claim, but once you change your cheap sneakers out for some quality shoes, it’s hard not to agree with him.

Footwear is expensive, unfortunately. But it’s worth investing in a pair of well-design shoes, the superior quality and materials, high-end craftsmanship and many years of working to design the perfected shoe has led to replaceable parts to ensure that the shoes can be used for a lifetime.

Even if you compare the cheap shoes to the expensive ones, you’ll realise that expensive shoes are indeed more cost-effective.

A pair of cheap shoes can last 1 season, maybe 2. A pair of luxury shoes will last your years and years with the right care.

This list is to give a bit of help in the way of choosing a good luxury pair of shoes.

Cheaney

Cheaney has been in business since 1886 and is the representative when it comes to shoemaking heritage. These shoes are today famous around the world for being one of the finest craftsmanship out there.

The factory is still located in Northampton, UK. Northamptonshire is the place in England that is famous for shoemaking. The queen even gave Cheaney the Queen’s Award to Industry for export achievements. That’s something for a shoe brand!

John Lobb

The family-run shoe company John Lobb specializes in bespoke bootmaking. It’s also one of these companies that have been around for over 170 years. The business started in 1849 in London.

Customers report that their shoes have lasted for 30 years when they’ve taken care of the leather according to John Lobb’s instructions.

Church’s

Church’s is the third alternative from England and, together with Cheaney, started in Northamptonshire. Today, the company is owned 83% by Prada. The luxury still stands and the company has several iconic designs that are sold all over the world.

Some of those are the Consul Oxford 173 that are made of calf leather and Shannon Derby’s that is just a wonderful classic model.

Tricker’s

The oldest shoemaker in the United Kingdom. They’re making shoes that are timeless classics designed with great leather quality. Users report that they even are comfortable from the first wear.

Although, they differ a bit from the other shoe brands as it’s of the style of a work boot, however, these shoes are perfect for your everyday life.

Christian Louboutin

Christian Louboutin might not be the most famous shoemaker for men, but they have some incredible designs in the luxury category. The Dandelion Tassel Loafer e.g. is a fantastic shoe that is, not only stunning but also very comfortable to wear.

And we had to include the brand thanks to the wonderful quotation that was mentioned at the beginning of the article.

Grenson

Grenson is different from many of the traditional names on the list. The brand has its heritage in the traditional sense of shoe production, however, they have taken another path, meaning that they are fusing the traditional manufacturing practice with modern techniques and also materials.

This can be observed in how they are adding contemporary parts to some of the designs.

Yuketen

We need to at least mention one non-western brand as well. Yuketen, founded in 1985, is a  Japanese brand that hand-sew its shoes. They’ve been increasingly getting more popular with time, and without a doubt, they deserve the fame.

The designs are wonderful and quality of the highest standard. They are offering progressive design and updated versions of the classic silhouettes, including versions of the work boot, moccasins, sneakers and chukkas.

Colors are often a bit different, which is very refreshing to see!

Summary

Many of these old and new players are offering such good products that will last you for several years. There are many more on the market, but these are some of my favourites.
